Stakeholder Workshop in Nicosia, Cyprus

On Friday, 29 September, researchers from The Cyprus Institute participated in the 2023 European Researcher’s Night that took place in the Cyprus Expo, Nicosia.

The team from The Cyprus Institute showcased the work of the Sustainable Built Environment in a joint booth with colleagues from the EEWRC, STARC, and CARE-C, highlighting the work done in the Horizon 2020 COLLECTiEF project.

The event was organized in two phases: in the morning, schools attended workshops where project details and initial findings were shared with students and educators. The afternoon session was open to the public and throughout the day, the exhibition space was filled with researchers, members of public administration and industry stakeholders. Citizens were informed of the COLLECTiEF solutions and the impact they can have on household energy consumption and comfort. Discussions with other stakeholders revolved around collaborations and the different possibilities to approach the topic of energy flexibility and indoor environmental quality.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to test the monitoring devices to measure various environmental parameters such as air temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and illuminance. Additionally, a demonstration of the Sphensor device used in the project highlighted COLLECTiEF's objectives concerning energy flexibility, conservation, and occupants' well-being, fostering discussions on potential collaborations and approaches to address energy flexibility and indoor environmental quality.
