COLLECTiEF General Assembly: Progress and Future Steps in Nicosia

The Cyprus Institute in Nicosia successfully hosted the 7th COLLECTiEF General Assembly on June 26-27, 2024. Team members from all partner organisations gathered in person and online to mark the start of the project's final year, which will conclude in May 2025.

 

Key Activities and Discussions

Latest Updates: The first day of the meeting was dedicated to comprehensive presentations on the latest developments across all work packages. These updates highlighted the significant strides made since the last meeting, remarking the project's continuous progress and innovation.

Future Steps: A major focus of the assembly was to strategise for the project's final year. Discussions centered around ensuring that all remaining objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Emphasis was placed on finalising deliverables and preparing for the project's closure and subsequent reporting.

Workshops: Three interactive workshops were held during the assembly, each focusing on critical components of the project:

  • E-learning Modules: This workshop aimed at preparing for the development of e-learning modules. Participants collaborated on content creation, structure, and delivery methods to ensure that the modules would be informative and engaging for future users.
  • Exploitation Plan and Business Models: This session was dedicated to fine-tuning the exploitation plan and business models. The discussion included strategies for maximising the impact and sustainability of the COLLECTiEF system on the market.
  • COLLECTiEF Dashboard: Partners presented the latest version of the COLLECTiEF Dashboard, showcasing its functionalities and improvements. Feedback was gathered to refine the dashboard further, ensuring it meets the users' needs and expectations.

 

Review Meeting with CINEA

On June 28, the project team engaged in a crucial review meeting with the Project Officer from CINEA. This session focused on evaluating the progress and results achieved during the second implementation period. Key points discussed included:

  • Achievements: The team highlighted the significant milestones reached, demonstrating the project's impact and alignment with its initial objectives.
  • Challenges: Any hurdles faced during the implementation were discussed, along with strategies employed to overcome them.
  • Next Steps: The meeting concluded with a detailed plan for the final year, ensuring a clear roadmap for successful project completion.

 

Visit to the Pilot

A highlight of the meeting was the visit to the pilot building at the Graduate School. Here, the team observed the Sphensors and Brig systems installed to monitor indoor environmental quality and collect data to train the COLLECTiEF algorithms. Additionally, partners had the opportunity to try the Post Occupancy Evaluation questionnaire themselves via QR codes posted in the rooms, providing valuable feedback on the building's performance.

The assembly and review meeting underscored the project's collaborative spirit and commitment to achieving its goals as it approaches its conclusion. The enthusiasm and dedication of all partners were evident, promising a successful culmination of the COLLECTiEF project.
